Your wedding on the Isle of Skye

There are few places in Scotland quite like Skye.

Mountain, sea, cliffs, ancient landscapes and ever-changing weather create a backdrop that can make a wedding or elopement feel truly extraordinary.

Just the two of you — or everyone you love

A Skye wedding doesn't have to look like a traditional wedding.

It might be an intimate elopement with just the two of you, standing somewhere spectacular with the mountains behind you.

Or perhaps you'd like your closest family and friends there to share the moment.

Whatever you have in mind, your ceremony should reflect you — your relationship, your personalities and the things that matter to you.

A ceremony that belongs to you

Your ceremony isn't a performance.

It's your story.

I'll take the time to get to know you both, listen to how you met, what you've experienced together, what makes you laugh, what you value and what you want your marriage to mean.

Then I'll turn those things into a ceremony that feels natural, personal and genuinely yours.

No scripts that could belong to anyone.

No clichés simply because they're traditional.

Just your story, carefully written and delivered in a way that feels right for you.

Skye gives you some incredible choices

You could exchange your vows beneath the dramatic peaks of the Quiraing, beside the Cuillins at Sligachan, near the Fairy Pools, beside the sea, or somewhere quieter that you discover for yourselves.

And that's one of the wonderful things about Skye.

You don't necessarily need a grand wedding venue.

The landscape itself can become part of your ceremony.

And don't worry about the weather

It's Skye.

The weather may be glorious.

It may rain.

There may be wind, mist, sunshine — sometimes all within the same hour.

But that can become part of the experience rather than something to fear.

Some of the most atmospheric photographs and memorable ceremonies happen when Skye is doing what Skye does best.

You don't have to wait for perfect weather to have a perfect wedding.

Coming from overseas?

Skye has become a destination for couples from all over the world.

If you're travelling to Scotland to get married, I'll help guide you through the process and the paperwork required for your legal marriage in Scotland.

We can meet in person when you're here, or get to know one another beforehand by Zoom or another meeting platform.

The important thing is that you know who is going to be standing beside you before the day arrives.

A Skye ceremony can be completely personal

If you want something more than simply exchanging rings and repeating traditional words, there are plenty of ways to make your ceremony your own.

Handfasting.

Candle lighting.

A quaich ceremony.

A sand ceremony.

Or something completely different that has meaning for the two of you.

One of my favourite Skye ceremonies

One couple travelled from Italy for their wedding on Skye.

They chose a sunrise ceremony at the Quiraing, with the landscape around them changing as the morning light appeared.

Their ceremony incorporated the elements of Skye itself — air, fire, water and earth — giving each part a meaning connected to their relationship and the place where they had chosen to marry.

It was completely personal to them.

And that's exactly what a Skye ceremony should be.

Your Skye wedding. Your story. Your way.

Whether you're planning a Skye elopement for two, an intimate wedding with those closest to you, or something completely different, I'd love to hear what you're imagining.

I'm based in Scotland and travel throughout the country, including the Isle of Skye.

Let's talk about your plans.

Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony for just the two of you or bringing family and friends with you, I can create a Humanist ceremony that is personal, relaxed and genuinely about you.

I’m a legally registered Humanist celebrant, and I can legally marry you anywhere in Scotland — including the places that make Skye so special.
